Marshall Iliff, Ken Rosenberg, and I had a Short-eared Owl again this evening over the field of tall switchgrass on Bluegrass Lane. This is the first report from Bluegrass (that I know of) since Ken had a SEOW here last Friday, but I don't know how many times it's been looked for since then. Tonight it appeared at 18:23 and put on a very nice show; when we finally lost sight of it, it was drifting east over the now fallow field along Hanshaw Road.
