This might not be related, but I recently learned that a man who lives on West Whitney Rd. in Fairport, just down the street from my sister's house, raises No. Bobwhites. He sells them to hunters and others "to train dogs", and for other purposes. Perhaps someone around here bought some from him and got away or was released.
My sis and I went and visited his birds last month. They are lovely little critters.Lynn has had a couple escapees from there come to her yard and then move on. At first I thought it was a recording it was so clear and loud, that someone was putting me on. But it moved slowly to the northwest, calling intermittently. ???? Sadly, I did not see it. By the time I retrieved my binocs, it was already moving away. If any of you is out there playing recordings in my yard, that's not nice. Would someone explain to me what this bird might be doing here?
