I made a brief stop at Stewart Park late this morning. There were still lots of RUDDY DUCKS off shore along with the usual gulls, mallards, and geese. I saw a COMMON LOON a little further offshore in the direction of East Shore Park. There was a small group of Canada Geese, but I found no Brant among them or anywhere else. I also found no scoters.

In the Swan Pen along with a few Mallards was a GREEN-WINGED TEAL in non-breeding plumage and a stunning pair of WOOD DUCKS in breeding plumage. I guess I have never looked at a female Wood Duck so closely. I never noticed the blue feathers in the wing that sit over the tail before. It's hard to pay much attention to the females when the males are so amazing!
