I was there at May's Point yesterday afternoon, and watched one red-headed woodpecker going in and out of another hole further north in the same grove of dead trees. He would put his head in and pull it out, shaking the wood dust off. Then he would go all the way in, disappear for a few seconds, then stick his head out. I don't recall anyone reporting this possible second nest at May's Point.
