Interesting. I just photographed a similar bird at the Lab of O on Wednesday.

(and following). It was the palest male House Finch I think I've ever seen.

Subject: [cayugabirds-l] Orange variant house finch

This morning at our feeders the usual pair of HOUSE FINCHES showed up, bringing
a visitor. He was an ORANGE VARIANT house finch. Peterson has a good picture
of what we saw, but gives no other information. Sibley notes a yellow variant,
with a picture. We'll check on the yellow one on our next SW visit. We've
listed the orange one on our Yard list.
