I birded the Lab late this morning and had a very enjoyable time. Lots
of MAGNOLIAS, YELLOW-RUMPS, OVENBIRD, COMMON YELLOWTHROATS, YELLOW WARBLERS,
one CHESTNUT-SIDED and in addition to the NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH by Sherwood
Platform I had one singing on the Wilson Trail at the first split that heads
toward the pond. I also had a PINE SISKIN near the emergency generator shed and
a ALDER FLYCATCHER on Timmy's Walk. There was an EASTERN KINGBIRD at the
boardwalk from the middle parking lot and WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, around still,
that I'm always thrilled to see. Several GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHERS and a RUSTY
BLACKBIRD added to the fun.
No sign of the Barred Owl, but maybe someday when I least expect it..
