I was in Aurora earlier today so I stopped at the boathouse to scan as
it was pretty calm. There were 6 HORNED GREBES, three of them in breeding
plumage and one C. LOON. I didn't see any sign of the EARED GREBE.
I then drove to the Visitor's Center at Montezuma to see if anything
new was around. The BLUE-WINGED TEAL were still there, new for me this year,
but I was surprised to hear at least three MARSH WRENS singing by Larue's
Lagoon and one E. TOWHEE. I didn't see any TREE SWALLOWS. I didn't see anything
else that hasn't already been posted and the drive is still only open as far as
the Carp bridge.
