This afternoon Puddler's marsh was mostly the same as has been reported except 1 molting adult Black-bellied Plover.
At the visitor center around 3:30 the 6 Least and 2 Semipalmated Sandpipers were suddenly joined by (counting by tens) 350 Least and 300 Semipalmated Sandpipers plus a few Pectorals. I could not believe that after scanning these birds carefully I couldn't find even a possible Western or Baird's. It would have been nice to at least see Dave Wheeler's bird which by posture, molt and bill looks like a Western to me (but I'm terrible with photos). I saw my first obvious fresh juvenile Lesser Yellowlegs today.
