Since Janet said the wildlife drive was partially open, I went to Montezuma.
The eagle is at her nest at Mud Lock, and though I could not see any, she acted
like she was feeding a baby. At the visitor center, I saw mallards, 2 pair of
pintails, black ducks, 2 pair of Green Wing Teals, a pair of Wigeon, and of
course, C. geese. On the drive, everything was way out. I saw one Hooded
Merganzer, 4 Coots, hundreds of Canvasback, some Wigeons, a pair of Gadwall,
and about 15 swans. At Tschache pool I caught a brief glance of the Northern
Shrike. I didn't see anything at the other stops. There were 2 numbered
Swans at the pool on Savannah Springs Rd.. I did see my FOS Turkey Vultures,
Song Sparrow, and Tree Swallows. Also at the MW C was a Bluebird, Tons of RW
blackbirds, Grackles, and some Song Sparrows. I also saw a Fox Sparrow on the
cut across from rt. 5/20 to Mud Lock.

Past the Seneca Spillway, they are remaking(raising) the road along the new
Shorebird area. It looked at least 3 foot higher than before.
