As Larry Hymes kindly pointed out, I inadvertently (he could have said incompetently) omitted WHITE-THROATED SPARROW from the Ithaca CBC list, so it now stands at 91 species. See the amended list below, on which I've also added some notes on unique finds.

High counts were (I think):

GREAT BLUE HERON tied at 20

TURKEY VULTURE at least 32 (presumably there was considerable duplication among the 116 reported)

BALD EAGLE 3

MERLIN 3 (a 4th was deemed possibly a duplicate)

WINTER WREN 5

HERMIT THRUSH 5 (although 1 was eaten by a Cooper's Hawk immediately after being counted)

ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER 1 (first time on an Ithaca Christmas Bird Count)

There were at least 3 species each added to the 2012 Basin list on 1 & 2 January, noted separately at the bottom. Keep letting me know of additions.  We're also still looking for additional species for Count Week in the Ithaca area observed by Wednesday at the latest. Considering the way the weather has turned, HORNED LARK, SNOW BUNTING, and LAPLAND LONGSPUR might be worth looking for!
