I managed to swing through Montezuma NWR in the late afternoon today, Thursday 13 October.
I checked the Visitor Center, Wildlife Drive, May's Point, and Towpath Road by which time it was raining and getting dark.
I did NOT see any Greater White-fronted Goose, Long-billed Dowitcher, Red Phalarope...
I DID see:
Snow Goose - many at Knox-Marsellus
Canada Goose - hundreds at Visitor Center & Larue's, a few in Main Pool, Benning's, some at May's, thousands at K-M & Puddler's
Trumpeter Swan - 1 at Knox-Marsellus
Wood Duck - several at Visitor Center
Gadwall - several at Larue's and Benning's
American Wigeon - some at the back of the Main Pool
American Black Duck - 4 at Visitor Center
Mallard - various places
Green-winged Teal - some everywhere, lots at May's
Blue-winged Teal - some at Visitor Center
Northern Shoveler - several various places
Northern Pintail - 1 female at Visitor Center
Redhead - 1 distant female in Main Pool
Pied-billed Grebe - 1 in Main Pool
Great Blue Heron - various places
Great Egret - 4 at May's, similar number at K-M & Puddler's
Bald Eagle - 2 adults in trees on far side of Seneca River
American Coot - several at back of Main
American Avocet - 1 still at Puddler's
Black-bellied Plover - at least 1 at May's; possibly 8 or so flying over May's
Greater Yellowlegs - various places
Lesser Yellowlegs - various places
Ring-billed Gull - various places
Herring Gull - several at Puddler's
Great Black-backed Gull - 1 at Visitor Center
Tree Swallow - several over Mail Pool marsh opposite Benning
European Starling - hundreds near Main Pool Tower
Swamp Sparrow - 1 near Main Pool Tower
Song Sparrow - 2 near Main Pool Tower
Red-winged Blackbird - several over/in vegetation of Main Pool
