Before I forget, I wanted to add to Bob's and my note about birds at the
Hawthorn Orchard on Sunday AM. Pete Marchetto and I walked around for a
little bit, after the rain had started. We got drenched. But there were good
views of nice birds (in between the drops of rain hitting the binoculars).
Can add at least one female BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, and one female
BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER, along with the other more numerous birds
(Tennessee Warblers, Magnolia Warblers, Chestnut-sided Warblers,
Bay-breasted Warblers, etc.). After reaching some point of critical soaking,
we decided that enough torture was enough, and headed to CollegeTown Bagels
(CTB) at East Hill Plaza for food and a warm-up, before parting ways for
home and dryer clothes.

Good birding!

Sincerely,
Chris T-H

Subject: [cayugabirds-l] Hawthorn Orchard Sunday

I spent some time before the rain this morning in the NE corner of the
Hawthorns. New for me was a conspicuous PHILADELPHIA VIREO singing
loudly for over ten minutes. There were numerous TENNESSEE WARBLERS,
at least 3 BLACKPOLL WARBLERS, 2 NASHVILLES, 1 MAGNOLIA 1 REDSTART and
several Yellows & Common Yellowthroats. Two Ruby-throated Hummingbirds
were feeding among the apple blossoms.
