I skied with CNSC and CTC group in Finger Lakes National Forest. Somewhere
close to Junction of Backbone trail, We-no-Nah trail and Interloken trail,
there is big stand of pines and spruces, here I heard some calls and I think
they were Red Crossbills, I heard them only once. There were quite a few
Chickadees, now a days they are quite rare to me, both nuthatches and a few
robins in hawthorns. Otherwise very quiet.

At home in the morning Blue Jays were doing their spring calls. As I opened my
garage door, I heard crows going crazy. So I put my head out to see what was
going on and that disturbed a Red-tailed Hawk that was sitting on my maple tree
and crows chased him out! Crows seem to be getting ready to nest in the spruce
again!
