Had some FOY yard birds today, notably Baltimore Oriole and House Wren. Also
First-Ever yard bird--Northern Mockingbird. I've been waiting 37 years for
this! They have been in the neighborhood for many years but not right here. I
hope it sings at night. It'll make me feel like a kid again!

Fritzie and I were able to leave Union Springs earlier than usual to head down
for tonight's seminar so had time for a little birding detour. Our first
special sighting was an Orchard Oriole on Algerine Rd. and returning to 34B on
Sweazy we came across a singing Rose-breasted Grosbeak. Before we left that
spot a small flock of Cedar Waxwings flew into to nearby tree.

As I type there is a Great-horned Owl calling in the distance.
