This afternoon I pretended it was warm and watched the sky from my back deck in
Ithaca. There was a light raptor movement through my patch of sky, including my
yard-bird NORTHERN HARRIER (a male), an adult NORTHERN GOSHAWK circling fairly
low over the neighborhood, about 10 Red-tails, and 10 Turkey Vultures. A pair
of COMMON MERGNSERs and (believe it or not) a ROCK PIGEON were also good yard
birds.
