I now believe that the peep I had at Myers this morning was a WESTERN
SANDPIPER. Although the bird disappeared before I could get bino on it (it was
flying by), I did record its flight call, a series of short warbles at around
3,500 Hz. As soon as I got home I compared it with all of the peep calls from
the PDA Solutions guide - and did not find it. Since then I have had a chance
to look further and discover that it is a good match for the Western's calls
in the Stokes guide - and also a good match for McCaulay #49706 from Bill Evans.

I wish I had come to that conclusion earlier and spent more time looking for
the bird - an alerting others.

A Black-bellied Plover was still on the spit at Myers at 7am this morning
along with one unidentified peep that took off before I could get a good look
at it.
