We recently upgraded CAS from version 5.3 to 6.3. After the upgrade we noticed a drastic increase in CPU usage and by looking at logs we noticed that every time a SAML2 authentication request is processed, the applications performs the action of loading the SP metadata file multiple times (more than 20). Here is one example of the log entry:
