CAS 3.x does not have native support for SAML2. To enable SAML-based services to authenticate against a CAS 3.x server, you'd have to install the Shibboleth IdP and the shib-cas-authn3 <https://github.com/Unicon/shib-cas-authn3> plugin.
But honestly, upgrading to CAS 5 would be a much better answer. -- DAVID A.
