I guess these mails are not being sent to the cas-announce list. Some
releases have been thrown but I got no notification in the announce
list.

CAS Community,
CAS version 4.2.0 RC1 [1] has been released and should shortly find
its way into Maven central repositories, if not already. This is a
release candidate suited for early deployers of CAS to try out and
report back findings. This is not a recommended version for production
deployments. Once the 4.2 release has reached a stable-enough state,
an official 4.2.0 version will become available as the recommended
platform for production deployments. Please note that CAS 4.1.x
deployments are still maintained by the project and will continue to
receive patches.
We encourage you to deploy and test the new release candidate. Should
you find any issues, please discuss them either on the mailing list or
submit an official issue here [3].
