Hi,
After the last hectic 2 weeks I thought it was a good idea to summarise some
of the threads about new requirements into the Feature Request tracker. The
following requests made it so far:
- The Reporting Module
- Upgrading top php5
- Upgrading adodb
- upgrading the PDF generating code
I also revived the "Change the Look and Feel of care2x to be more Businnes
Like" Feature Request (which was previously called differently)
Many more points have been made, but as you can only enter a Request once, and
you are not able to edit its text, i will wait for a bit more input on the
following issues (in random order):
- VOIP integration
- OP management & planning
- Nurse nic's & noc's (for a non medic, that sounds how shall i put it,
funny?)
- Upgrading care2x to a framework
- Integrating with a SMS/pager system
- supporting multiple campuses
- Inventory management
- The Drug/Service Request module, integrated with billing from ELCT
- The Diagnostic Module from ELCT
- The quicklist functionality
- The Patient History Recording functionality
- From East-Africa:
- Changes to the Registration Module
- Additions to the Billing Module (which might be covered by ELCT
already)
- Change that ugly DatePicker!
If i missed out any of your proposals (it was a long read back through all you
mails), please tell us (or me directly)
For the sake of readability I would like to propose some guidelines:
- If you do a proposal for new functionality, please describe what the
business use is. For example, if you would like to include bicycle repair
management, you could tell us that your hospital has 140 bikes that need
regular maintenance to check them for malfunctions, but your bikes also break
down from time to time. You would need care2x to support both forms of
bicycle maintenance. Samples really help other people to understand what you
are saying.
- Tell us if you have development capacity yourself. Do you have programmers
that could help program? Do you have funding to hire people? How could we get
this functionality in.
- Maybe a sensitive point, but I think at the moment there are very very few
native English speakers on this list. Living in a foreign country myself, I
know how easy it is to get miscommunication based just on the fact that
almost everyone of us is not using his or her mothertongue. So, before you
post, please re-read your email and try to figure out if this is going to
make any sense to other people. If you are not sure, try again. (again, using
samples is a very good idea)
I still have a very good feeling that this project is moving in the right
direction. With the help of all the enthusiastic members of this list, I hope
we can achieve a more managed release trajectory in the future.
