Duh!
From the name "cap" I should have figured out that they were
capabilities, which the website discusses at length, and which people
have been talking about for years.
Just as it should have been obvious that I needed the Win64 option in
the CMake Generator option and to set the Zlib environment variables in
the CMake command line, not in the environment. (And eventually it was
obvious but not till I came back at it a second time)
Sorry about newbie questions, but I am a newbie, I trip over lots of
things that I probably should not trip over, and miss a "getting started
for the complete idiot" guide.
