This patchset has not been accepted into mainline yet, and the patchset notes that the original bug is unlikely to cause functional issues, but may have some performance consequences due to unnecessary VM-Exits. Because of the complexity of the changes, it is also noted that there is a significant opportunity for them to introduce a functional regression, hence for v2 the author un-cc’d upstream stable.
