Public bug reported: Would it be possible to include the manifest.json file which contains version information and such for the Pepper Flash? adobe- flashplugin_20150414.1.orig.tar.gz already contains the file, so it should be theoretically almost no additonal effort to extract that file and place it in /usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin/ along with libpepflashplayer.so.
It would be useful for wonderful projects like freshplayerplugin (PPAPI- NPAPI adapter primarily used for getting the newest version of Adobe Flash Player in browsers which refuse to or are unable to implement PPAPI support), for which this bug is the only thing left preventing a perfect user experience: https://github.com/i-rinat/freshplayerplugin/issues/169 This proposed addition would not break anything, not increase the package size by any significant amount (manifest.json being a text file,) and it would be useful. ** Affects: adobe-flash-plugin-tools Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: freshplayerplugin Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: adobe-flash-plugin-tools Importance: Undecided Status: New ** No longer affects: adobe-flashplugin (Ubuntu) ** Also affects: freshplayerplugin Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - No manifest.json + No manifest.json in adobe-flashplugin -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Canonical Partner Developers, which is subscribed to adobe-flashplugin in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1446888 Title: No manifest.json in adobe-flashplugin To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/adobe-flash-plugin-tools/+bug/1446888/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~canonical-partner-dev Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~canonical-partner-dev More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
