Confusingly, the apt history only shows the most recent install of skype
to fix this problem; and it shows as an 'install', so the skype package
was *not* installed prior to this - so I don't know where /usr/bin/skype
came from.

I do see that a previous apt run failed with a package configuration
problem though.  Jason, could you attach /var/log/apt/term.log as well?
