Lori's White Bread Cake


Original recipe makes 1 - 10 inch Bundt Pan  
  a.. 1 cup shortening 

  b.. 3 cups white sugar 

  c.. 6 eggs 

  d.. 3 cups all-purpose flour 

  a.. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 

  b.. 1 dash vanilla extract 

  c.. 1 cup buttermilk 

  d.. 1 pinch salt 

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour Bundt pan.
  1.. In a medium bowl, sift flour, soda and salt. Set aside.
  2.. In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add 
eggs one at a time, mixing well with each addition.
  3.. Add flour mixture and mix in well.
  4.. Add buttermilk and vanilla, and combine.
  5.. Pour into prepared Bundt pan. Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 1 
hour or until bottom is golden and pick inserted into center comes out clean.
