Addictive Amish Style Applesauce Cake
Made completely from scratch, this Addictive Amish Style Applesauce Cake
<#> is jam-packed with good, old-fashioned flavor. When you combine
cinnamon and allspice with applesauce, walnuts and raisins, you get a
cake that's unlike any other. Your family won't be able to get enough of
this incredibly moist cake, so be sure to stash this away with your
other easy Amish recipes. You'll be baking this treat for many years to
come... it's that good!
Cooking Time:1 hr
Ingredients
* 1/2 cup shortening or butter
* 2 cups sugar
* 1 egg
* 2 cups applesauce
* 1/2 cup water
* 2 1/2 cups flour
* 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
* 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
* 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
* 1/2 teaspoon cloves
* 1/2 teaspoon allspice
* 1 cup walnuts, chopped
* 1 cup raisins
* 1 cup cherries, halved
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven <#> to 350 degrees F.
2. Cream together the first 2 ingredients.
3. Add the next 3 ingredients and mix with a mixer.
4. Add the dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon.
5. Stir in walnuts, raisins and cherry halves.
6. Pour into a well greased bundt pan. Bake <#> for 1 hour or until
knife inserted in center of cake comes out clean.
