                  Palamino Potato-chocolate Pepper Cake

     1/2      teaspoon  salt
  3               cups  raw potatoes -- grated
     3/4           cup  cocoa
  1            3 Pound  box devil's food cake mix
  1                cup  sugar
  1           teaspoon  ground pepper
  2               cups  milk
  2                     eggs
  1                cup  sour cream or yogurt

Preheat the oven to 350. Mix salt with the
potatoes to prevent them from turning
brown. In a mixing bowl. combine all dry
ingredients well. Mix milk. eggs, and sour
cream together in a separate bowl. Add half
the sour cream mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until the lumps have 
disappeared. Add the rest of the mixture slowly,
then add the potatoes. Pour into a greased
and floured 12x21-inch pan. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted 
in the center comes out clean. (You can also add nuts,
mini-marshmallows, and chocolate chips to
make rocky road cake.) Serve with
whipped topping and a drizzle of raspberry
or grenadine syrup over the top.
