Hot Fudge Sundae Cake

1 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 TBS cocoa
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
2 TBS salad oil
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1-3/4 cups hot tap water

Preheat oven to 350. Mix together flour, sugar, 2 TSP cocoa, baking
powder, salt. Add milk, salad oil, vanilla. Stir until smooth (it will
be thick).

Spread batter evenly in 9x9x2 pan. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over
batter, then 1/4 cup cocoa over that. Pour hot water over top (do not
stir).

Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes, then cut into
squares. You'll have cake on top with thick hot fudge underneath.
Invert square on dish to serve (so the hot fudge will be on top), top
with a scoop of ice cream.
