OAT MEAL CAKE
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. flaked coconut
1 c. walnuts
6 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. can milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Pour 1 1/4 cups boiling water
over oatmeal and cover.
Let set for 20 minutes.
Beat eggs with sugars and add
to dry ingredients.
Add to oatmeal and beat until all
ingredients are mixed together.
Put in a big oblong cake pan.
Mix coconut, brown sugar and nuts.
Spread over the top of your cake mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 to 40 minutes.
Bring the butter, can milk, sugar and
vanilla to a boil and pour over top
of the hot cake.
