Easy Apple Sauce

Ingredients:

3 large apples, pared, cored and sliced
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel

optional: 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Place apples in a covered microwave
safe container and cook on high for
eight to ten minutes, or until soft,
stirring occasionally.

Beat in sugar, vanilla, lemon peel
and cinnamon if using.

Serve warm or chill in the refrigerator.


Lavanda's note;  

For a sugar-free version, cook the 
ingredients minus the sugar.

After removing from the microwave, 
stir in the sweetener of your taste, 
and allow to sit s the flavors can meld
before eating.

Warmed, this can be used as a topping 
for ice-cream or other frozen dessert.
