Try something like:
$this->paginate = array(
'conditions' => array(Project.id => $ProjectIdArray),
'limit' => 20
);
$projects = $this->paginate('Project');
// debugging in controller ;-)
// print_r($projects);
$this->set(compact('projects'));
then add the paginator links in the view
