As a Mac user and a netbeans one, I agree. Its a great app. I can't comment or compare against the others as I haven't really tried them out, except Eclipse which I just didn't get on with.
Being a PHP and Python developer, Netbeans really works well for me with good support for both language. Fingers crossed they release a Cake plugin at some point.
