Since we have spent some time over the last week optimizing, I figured I would run some more tests. I really don't like "ab" as a utility. I have trouble believing that it accurately tells us what is happening. For one, I think mod_rewrite has an effect on the stats. IF someone can prove otherwise please tell me, but instead I prefer to use JoeDog Siege. http://www.joedog.org/JoeDog/Siege
So here are my results. Cake 1.1 Transactions: 250 hits Availability: 100.00 % Elapsed time: 7.93 secs Data transferred: 3000 bytes Response time: 0.10 secs Transaction rate: 31.53 trans/sec Throughput: 378.31 bytes/sec Concurrency: 3.25 Successful transactions: 250 Failed transactions: 0 Longest transaction: 0.31 Shortest transaction: 0.03 Cake 1.2 Transactions: 250 hits Availability: 100.00 % Elapsed time: 9.81 secs Data transferred: 3000 bytes Response time: 0.21 secs Transaction rate: 25.48 trans/sec Throughput: 305.81 bytes/sec Concurrency: 5.42 Successful transactions: 250 Failed transactions: 0 Longest transaction: 0.58 Shortest transaction: 0.03 Zend Transactions: 250 hits Availability: 100.00 % Elapsed time: 9.59 secs Data transferred: 3000 bytes Response time: 0.33 secs Transaction rate: 26.07 trans/sec Throughput: 312.83 bytes/sec Concurrency: 8.62 Successful transactions: 250 Failed transactions: 0 Longest transaction: 0.68 Shortest transaction: 0.05 CodeIgniter Transactions: 250 hits Availability: 100.00 % Elapsed time: 6.57 secs Data transferred: 2750 bytes Response time: 0.04 secs Transaction rate: 38.05 trans/sec Throughput: 418.57 bytes/sec Concurrency: 1.68 Successful transactions: 250 Failed transactions: 0 Longest transaction: 0.27 Shortest transaction: 0.01 Some things to keep in mind...I did my best to be fair, but I may have also missed some important steps. Given that this was not a serious push to benchmark yet and more of a rough idea, I decided not to make the effort to configure and setup Symfony. We have also pinpointed a few more areas where we can improve 1.2, so we will continue to perform these comparisons over the next few weeks. If someone wants to send me a completely configure symfony package, I will gladly add it to the list. Also, if anyone else has siege installed and wants to compare feel free to post your results. Bake on, the Cake is rising. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "CakePHP" group.
