Hi All, I've just implemented the SIMILE Timeline as found here http://simile.mit.edu/timeline/ It is licensed under the BSD license.
Since it uses a very simple XML input file, you can simply create an XML view, point the Javascript file to it and voila!! Very slick, sliding active timeline. Very handy.
