Yes, that sound pretty well thought. Additionally, I found this link http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/views/opensource/libraryview.jsp?search_by=cook+web+sites+CakePHP were some IBM guy had addressed Cake's cache helper. Once I read this article, I understood that the Microsoft's dataset wasn't needed. Cake's cache seemed to do the trick.
