I moved from 1.1 to 1.2 and have had no problems whatsoever. In a way, it has been good for me to reafactor my code in order to overcome the deprecated functions as I know it is ready for 1.2 stable - or almost ready depending on how many changes they make before then.
The mailer component in 1.2 is a dream, and it worked first time "out the box" for me.
