You can just urlencode the names. I didn't say it should be the default method, just that it should be an option. A lot of people seem to prefer doing it this way for many reasons, including SEO, not to mention it can make the URL easier to read.
Works :) but just in blinded mode and for english speaking users. Counting that usernames can only consist of "url safe" characters :) because every other language almost certainly will have some kind of spechial character in it.
