It is not that they are involved or not, but more like the side effect that
a legal litigation against CakePHP would have. Those big players would be
interested in a positive ruling towards CakePHP because otherwise it would
sit a legal precedence that would allow others to sue them. Sort of the way
tobacco companies got together to fight litigations (really nasty example,
but you get my point.)

That sounds interesting. You may want to check out Felix's DRAKE (Drupal +
Cake) a quick way to integrate drupal and cake. I didn't check it myself but
it sounds like a great idea (being that Drupal is probably one of the best
PHP CMS out there.)
