I had the Same Problem, you must replace: "new Ajax.Updater(\'tasks_done\',\'/tasks/done/' ." with "new Ajax.Updater(\'tasks_done\',\'/CAKE/tasks/done/' ." This should be the correct path for your Install. Test it!
