Well I think it could be done, but you might be interested in my
experiences with Google Sitemaps.

I've used them on another site I had worked on, because I hoped it
would get my site a little advantage in terms of search engine ranking,
but oh boy I was wrong. My site got hundreds of visits from the google
bots, but I got excluded from google's index for a while. Then I was
back in, but only with very few sites. My site map worked well, and
validated as such, but Google didn't. I was looking around on the
internet and it seemed like other people experienced similar troubles.
Most people in the seo forums where actually telling you not to use
google sitemaps at all. That's what I did, and voila, all my pages got
indexed again, and my position was better then with the sitemaps.

Well, it might be that things have changed in the past 2-3 month, but
you propably want to check on this before starting this extension ; )

Hope that helps,
