I ran an EFHW at home until the tree in the backyard ate it during the last
hurricane.

Subject: Re: [BVARC] POTA and / or bug out bag 100w HF (or more) antenna survey

I have a EFHW by K6ARK that’s never failed me although it doesn’t handle more
than QRP. For bug out I can’t compliment it enough. I made a EFHW with dual mix
243 31s from Palomer engineers
https://palomar-engineers.com/ferrite-products/ferrite-beads/FT240-3I-ID=1-4-AC-DC-Coax-Noise-Filter-RFI-Range-1-300-MHz-Mini-Pack-of-3-p491545766

I cut it resonate 40-10 and it handles everything great. I suggest buying nice
capacitors!

Choke your feed line if >50w as EFHWs can have some RF feedback.

I made up diagrams if anyone needs it.
There’s some great EEs out there that have way out done the design effort so
great data in this world today. I’m just a gear head ME.

Happy to help if anyone needs it.
