I read a CNN Science article about the "Ghost Ship of the Pacific" -- The USS Stewart DD 224, a Clemson Class Destroyer. USS Stewart??? Wait a minute... A bit of research.....
There have been 3 ships named as such..... USS Stewart -- DD-13 Bainbridge Class Destroyer 1902 to 1919 USS Stewart -- DD-224 Clemson Class Destroyer 1920 and scuttled in 1946 The Ghost Ship recently found in 3500 feet of water off Northern W6 land. USS Stewart -- DE-238, Edsall class Destroyer Escort 943 to 1947...now a museum ship as we know it. Cool stuff......Rick W5RH
