Also, thank you for sharing the email with those larger group of Amateur Radio Operators. Basically, to learn and see how the operation is done and also to get to know about equipment needed to run a radio station. That will prepare them for the Jamboree on the air and also help with checking the Radio Merit Badge, Yes, please limit it to only greater Houston and Katy. Kind Regards...• Soneye O. (Perhaps some numbers are transposed) Your request has been forwarded to a larger group of amateur radio operators to see who is close to your location. Is there anything in particular you wish to learn about amateur radio or simply need to visit one for the Radio Merit Badge? How far can your troops travel to see the radio station? We have members throughout the greater Houston/Katy area. Re: Requesting Permission For a Field Trip To Your Amateur Radio Station Respected Sir/Madam, I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter with a humble request to allow our scout troops (1993-Girls and 993-Boys) to visit your Amateur Radio Station. We are looking at a Saturday, Sept 17 or 24, 2022 (depending on your availability). Time: Anytime from 10 am to 4 pm My name is Philip Soneye, an assistant Scoutmaster with the above troops, We are a member of Boy Scouts of America and our troops are located at 2201 S Dairy Ashford Rd, Houston, TX, 77077 We are preparing our troops to participate in the world’s largest radio Scouting event called Jamboree on the Air. This will allows our Scouts to connect to other Scouts from around the world. The event is open to Scouts around the world, enabling young people to connect and communicate with each other using the Internet and amateur radio. You can read more about this at https://www.jotajoti.info/ We thought it is important to prepare our boys/girls for this great event by arranging a small field trip to your Radio Station, to learn how to build a radio receiver, radio waves, their propagation, and how Amateur Radio works. We did some research online, we are inspired by your Amateur Radio Station, we thought our Scout troops will benefit more from this in checking off the requirement for their Citizenship in the World merit badge and International Spirit Award. We are sure your team would help them understand how the whole process works and give them a unique experience in preparing for Jamboree on the Air 2022. You may contact me at the email provided below. I shall be looking forward to your positive response. Thank you. Best Regards, Philip Soneye Assistant Scoutmaster drphilip2...@yahoo.com 281-769-9056
