Colleagues, Good morning. Today the Peruvian Radio Club will be doing a Field Day event from 0800 to 1730 CDT. They’ll likely be driving to the site & rigging up once they get there so operations may start around 10am. The event is taking place on the coast of the Pacific Ocean south of Lima at the ancient Inca ruins of Pachacamac.
The goal is similar to the ARRL field day in that they hope to encourage the Radio Amateur hobby in Perú. It’s being framed as a family field day so folks may bring out their kids to get them motivated about STEM fields. New hams may also be attending so it’s a good event. If you’re keen to make contacts with amateurs from Perú and log an “OA” contact, then you may want to monitor the upper bands as well as 40m. If I get additional frequency information, I’ll be sure to post it. Further information on the Peruvian Radio Club as well as pictures of their main installation in San Isidro, Lima can be found at this URL: https://www.oa4o.pe/ Best of luck & 73, Stephen (W2WF)
