I used a UPS that had a modified sine wave inverter and it made my laptop charger run excessively hot. That was one time during a Field Day event, so I don't know if it would have shortened the life of the charger. Currently I am using a pure sine wave inverter made by Samlex and the laptop charger plugged into that inverter feels like room temperature.

I found a old 150watt DC to AC converter.    It's a good 10 to 15 years old and has never been used.

Looking to use it to power the AC adapter/charger for my laptop.    IT's rated for 130watts.

I'm guessing it's a *modified sinewave* inverter due to the age.     Will this thing harm my laptop/charger.
