Thank you, John, for posting this. Your concise reminder helped me pay attention. As a life member, they gave me a choice about paper or not (I chose electronic). I didn’t realize they had taken paper away from others without waiting for renewal. I gave some time tonight writing a nice note to Mr. Roderick and Mr. Stratton in support of the motion.

Resent-From: <n...@gwjolly.com> To: BVARC Reflector Recipients who are ARRL members, Note: There are 3 ARRL motions being considered, one of which is the "Gag Order." This e-mail today only addresses the one regarding QST. If you are a member of ARRL and in the West Gulf Division, you received John Stratton’s (ARRL West Gulf Division Director) e-mail on December 31. regarding the motion to rescind the prior actions re QST. ARRL no longer sends QST as part of it’s basic non-lifetime paid-up members even though the member might have up to 3 years remaining on their term. This is entitled “Motion To Honor Member’s Contracts.” See https://westgulfdivision.org/westgulfdivision-org/motion/ARRLMotionToHonorMembershipContracts.pdf. We want this to pass! This will be voted on at the upcoming that ARRL Board of Director’s meeting this coming weekend (Jan 19 and 20). Their actions not honoring their agreement probably affects more than 2/3 of the 160,000 members. Example: If you are a non-lifetime member and accepted ARRL’s unsolicited offer to renew your membership last year, say for 3 years, that offer included mailed QST for that 3-year term. With 2 years left on that 3-year term, ARRL elected to not continue to send QST to you for the remaining 2 years on your current membership. Therefore, it is requested that you send an e-mail to the President of ARRL and other directors as you see fit, asking for the BOD to pass the current motion to restore the subscription of mailed QST for the duration of the current paid-up non-lifetime memberships. To have your say, it must be e-mailed within a day or two to be received and processed prior to the BOD meeting commencing this Friday. Quoting from the above referenced e-mail, “If you believe the Motion has merit and it should pass, it would be important for you to share your support for the Motion with the ARRL President, Rick Roderick, and the other Directors. All of their email addresses can be found on Page 15 of QST or at http://www.arrl.org/divisions. If you choose to share your views, please be respectful — we choose to disagree, but need not be disrespectful.” I have already sent mine in. Note: Mr. Roderick’s email is k...@arrl.org Tnx es 73 de John, K5IZO
