Yeah I've dealt with the expensive analyzers etc. However I bought the Mini1300 off of eBay... It was only $135, now they're up to 175 but they are fantastic. SD card, network connection, does Smith chart, TDR built in and multiple frequency SWR check plus panoramic band scan for resonance... Beats the heck out of any of the other amateur style versions out there.. And I use it on the job professionallyhttps://www.amazon.com/MINI1300-Analyzer-Touching-0-1-1300MHz-Frequency/dp/B08QJ6CYKK/ref=asc_df_B08QJ6CYKK/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=475692023481&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11613125928531630382&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9027867&hvtargid=pla-1187725663185&psc=1Chris WB5ITT Sent via my Samsung Galaxy S10e, an AT&T 5G Evolution capable smartphone..so there! 😂 -------- Original message --------From: "mike.williams shopjubilee.com via BVARC" <bvarc@bvarc.org> Date: 6/25/23 8:05 AM (GMT-06:00) To: bvarc@bvarc.org Cc: "mike.williams shopjubilee.com" <mike.willi...@shopjubilee.com> Subject: [BVARC] nanoVNA / antenna analyzers / spectrum analyzers
’73 and thanks to all that worked behind and in front of the scenes of Field Day – it was a good reintroduction to ham radio for me! I am sorry that ham radio had to take a back seat to other life activities… Noting the nanoVNA that was part of the raffle – I am interested in buying one and / or an antenna analyzer. I see different nanoVNA models for sell – which might be the best model to purchase? I have one of the original MFJ-259 Antenna Analyzer – which is VHF only. I have used Anritsu and Rhode & Schwartz VNA’s – so familiar with VNAs and HP spectrum analyzers w/ tracking oscillators. I also do side consulting and want to upgrade to something that can preferable handle: Ham VHFHam UHFLoRa (900 MHz)Digicourse Bird Coils (27KHz) While SWR and impedance are certainly of interest, being able to seeing resonance points are of interest as well… Ideally target pricing below $500 but would probably go to $1000 if my arm was twisted…. With all that being said, let the recommendations freely fly – and thanks in advance! ’73, Mike KK5SC
