PM CDTSubject: BVARC's Field Day '23 and Scout Troop 202?
Hello Kori,' My Name is Phil,. I am a member of BVARC and the Assistant Scout
Master of Troop 202 who teaches the Radio Merit Badge (Ham Radio) for our local
BSA Red Wolf District.
I have +10 scouts who are finalizing the requirements for their Ham Radio
Merit Badge. I have gone over with the scouts Basic Radio Theory and Operating
Procedures, now they need time seeing equipment and operating. I writing to see
if it is possible for us to get an area at Field Day '23 where we can work on
these requirements and set up a Station. Is this a possibility?
Some questions;1.)  We would like to come on the 1st Day of Field Day (June
24.). Is this possible?2.) We would Ideal like to have some where covered, or
some place we can set up a tent. Is this possible?3.) We would like some place
close to power. Is this possible? Otherwise, I can bring my Mobile set up.4.)
We would like some space to set up a DX Commander. Is this possible? One (1) of
the requirements for the badge is for a scout to operate a Radio (with me of
course being at the station when they operate).5.) For some scouts, I need to
finalize Basic Radio Theory and Operating Procedures. Folks walking by are
welcome to stop on by and see what we are doing.  If any "Elmer" was around,
they could most certainly give their input. 6.) We would like to set up a table
with the Troops Banner. We would have persons at table to talk to anyone
interested in Scouting and Radio.7.) What time is set up?8.) What time is tear
down?9.) Who should I get in touch with/ check in when arriving at the Fort
Bend County Fire Training Field?
I am open to any suggestions you may have.

I figure this is a "win win scenario" where as the Armature Radio Community has
exposures to an young audience and the scouts get to see and talk to operators
1st hand. When the Troop is done fulfilling there Merit Badge Requirements,
they can see and talk to the other folks participating.
Our Scouts will be supervised by there parents.

Apologies for the late nature of this e-mail. No worries if the above mention
is NOT feasible.
Thank you you in advance for your consideration, Phil (KI5WIC)
