To piggyback on Rick's recommendation: Jim Brown K9YC is an audio expert and prolific writer. I highly recommend scouring the web for ANY and ALL articles by him, most of which are linked at his website <http://k9yc.com/publish.htm>. He has also written for the ARRL Handbook and Antenna Book.
