Thank you all, I am having a blast learning new things, I really enjoyed working at the marathon this weekend for my first ever radio experience, ( well other than operating a radio in the USMC as a Mortar spotter, plotter). I have created accounts at radioID brandmeister QRZ registered ni5zho.com and maybe some others I dont know how to use any of this but I hope to soon.
I am establishing a home radio, I built the antenna and got is hoisted up a pole, and still need to figure out all the buttons. What I really need is some frequencies or repeaters to connect to so that I dont just get dead air all the time. I have all the data from repeaterbook.com for houston but I have no idea which are actually monitored or if I am talking to someones cat. when can I likely receive and send during the week after 1700?
